Today shall board an expression that cover not only our material characterization step for the Integrator Project, but also the qualitative verification for a material application: the mechanical testing.

A mechanical testing is, in the case, a trial in which a test subject (created in Brazil as for the E8M regulamentation) is submitted to destructive testing, therefore acquiring its properties. As highlighted by the Raytheon Company©, it is interesting for an initial analysis (selecting which components best fit starting by its characteristics) or as a routine verification (large production samples, e.g., to be tested and qualified).

There are many ramifications for this testing. The term usually remits to destructive testing (DPA - Destructive Physical Analysis), meanwhile the mechanical tests in general possess specificity regarding its naming.
